My name is Yan (Y-E-N). I was born and raised in a small village in China, my passion for art ignited at a tender age, fueled by the simplicity of pencils and paper amidst humble surroundings devoid of modern amenities. Despite facing financial hardships that veered me away from my childhood dream, I embarked on a journey into international business, spending six transformative years in Japan before finding my way to the United States.

Originally arriving in the U.S. to enhance my English skills, fate had a different plan in store as I crossed paths with my wonderful husband, with whom I've shared over 15 years of happiness. Despite pursuing a degree in mathematics and now working as a math professor, the allure of art remained ever-present.

Two years ago, a serendipitous invitation to a painting party reignited my artistic spark, unleashing a newfound fascination with colors previously unexplored. Though a novice in this medium, I am eager to share my journey of rediscovery with the world. With each brushstroke, I am reminded of the dream I once held dear as a child, now reignited and ready to flourish once more.
